About Carnegie Hill

“Carnegie Hill residents don’t compromise on anything else in their lives. Their training shouldn’t be the exception.”

You live in Carnegie Hill because you appreciate culture, architecture, and a neighborhood that feels more like a community than a commuter zone.

You’re surrounded by world-class museums. The Cooper Hewitt. The Guggenheim. The Jewish Museum. Your building is probably a prewar classic with details developers stopped caring about 40 years ago.

But you’re still walking to Equinox on 92nd & Lexington. Or taking the 4/5/6 train downtown to the 74th Street location.

Your building has a gym. It’s likely in a beautiful basement space with original tile work and crown molding. And it’s empty right now while you’re reading this on your phone waiting for a cable machine at Equinox.

There’s a smarter way.

Why Carnegie Hill Residents Choose PAC:

Your Building Gym Matches Your Neighborhood’s Character
Carnegie Hill isn’t about flash. It’s about substance. Beautiful prewar architecture. Tree-lined streets. Neighborhood institutions that have been here for decades.

Your building gym reflects that same quality. It may not be Instagram-worthy, but it has everything you need: dumbbells, benches, floor space, and most importantly – it’s private.

We train you there. Zero commute. Zero crowds. Zero pretension.

We Know Carnegie Hill
We train clients near:

  • Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum (91st & Fifth Ave)
  • The Guggenheim Museum (89th & Fifth Ave)
  • The Jewish Museum (92nd & Fifth Ave)
  • 96th Street 6 train station (Lexington Ave)
  • PS 6 (Madison Ave at 81st St)
  • Central Park Reservoir running path (90th St entrance)

If you’re between Lexington and Fifth Avenue, between 86th and 98th Street, we’re already training residents in your neighborhood. Probably in your building.

The Carnegie Hill Family Advantage:

Carnegie Hill has one of the highest concentrations of families on the Upper East Side. PS 6, Dalton, Spence, and other top schools are within blocks.

If you’re a parent:

  • You can train while kids are at school (9am-2pm)
  • Or after kids’ bedtime (8pm-9pm)
  • Your building gym is steps from your apartment – no long absence from family

We work around school drop-offs, pickups, after-school activities, and family dinner schedules.

Your fitness doesn’t compete with family time. It complements it.

Carnegie Hill Cultural Sophistication Meets Fitness Results:

You Appreciate Quality Over Flash
Carnegie Hill residents don’t need the flashiest gym. You need effective training. Your prewar building gym may not have floor-to-ceiling windows, but it has what matters: equipment, privacy, and proximity.

We deliver results without the Equinox spectacle.

You Value Efficiency
Museum board meetings. Parent-teacher conferences. Charity galas. Your calendar is full of commitments that matter.

Training in your building gym saves you 104 hours per year. That’s time you can spend at the Cooper Hewitt opening. Or dinner with family. Or reading a book. Not commuting to Equinox.

You Expect Professionalism
Carnegie Hill attracts professionals who know quality when they see it. Doctors. Executives. Nonprofit leaders. Museum curators.

We’re NASM certified with 10+ years experience. We’ve trained 200+ clients. We show up on time, execute the program, and deliver results. No drama. No excuses.

The Carnegie Hill Equinox Problem:

The nearest Equinox locations are:

  • 92nd & Lexington (small, crowded, limited equipment)
  • 74th & York (18+ blocks south – you’re not walking that)
  • Columbus Circle (West Side – might as well be New Jersey)

The 92nd Street location is constantly packed. Morning. Lunch. Evening. Weekends.

If you live at 95th & Madison, you’re walking 9 blocks to Equinox. 18 blocks round trip. Three times per week.

That’s 54 blocks per week. 216 blocks per month. 2,592 blocks per year.

That’s 130 miles of unnecessary walking per year just to access a gym.

Your building gym is 30 seconds from your apartment.

Stop commuting to fitness. Start training where you live.

Common Questions from Carnegie Hill Residents:

FAQ SECTION (10 Questions):

  1. Do you train in prewar buildings with older gyms?
Yes. Many Carnegie Hill prewar buildings have beautiful original basement gyms with classic tile work and great bones. We’ve created amazing transformations in these spaces. Equipment matters more than aesthetics.
  2. I’m near the Guggenheim/Cooper Hewitt. Do you train in that area?
Absolutely. We have multiple clients in buildings along Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue in the high 80s and 90s. Museum Mile proximity is one of Carnegie Hill’s best features.
  3. Can you work around school pickup schedules?
Yes. Many Carnegie Hill parents train 9:30am-12pm (after drop-off, before pickup) or 8:00-9:00pm (after kids’ bedtime). We build schedules around family commitments, not against them.
  4. What if my building gym is very small with limited equipment?
We’ve trained clients in Carnegie Hill building gyms that are just one room with basic dumbbells and a bench. That’s enough. We bring portable equipment (resistance bands, TRX) and use bodyweight exercises. Small gym ≠ small results.
  5. How does pricing compare to Equinox?
    Equinox membership: ~$250/month. Personal training: $150-350/session. For 12 sessions/month you’d pay $2,050-4,450 total. We’re $3,200/month all-inclusive with private training in your building.
  6. I work from home. Can we train mid-day?
Perfect. Mid-day training (10am-2pm) is ideal for Carnegie Hill residents who work from home or have flexible schedules. Building gyms are typically empty during these hours.
  7. Do you train couples together?
Yes. Semi-private training ($1,600/month per person) is very popular in Carnegie Hill. Many couples train together while kids are at school. Same programming, split the cost, accountability built-in.
  8. I’m on multiple nonprofit boards with evening commitments. Can we train early morning?
Absolutely. Many Carnegie Hill clients with evening obligations train 6:00-6:45am before their day begins. You’re showered, dressed, and energized by 7:15am while most people are still hitting snooze.
  9. What’s your policy on rescheduling sessions?
24-hour notice required. We understand museum events, school emergencies, and work travel come up. With 24-hour notice we’ll reschedule. Same-day cancellations count as a used session.
  10. Can you train me if I’m over 60?
Yes. We have many Carnegie Hill clients in their 60s and 70s. Training is adapted to your fitness level, any limitations, and your goals. Age is not a barrier. Commitment is the only requirement.

I hired three trainers before PAC. The difference is not technique — it's that they actually show up at my building, on time, prepared, every single session. That reliability is worth everything.

Questions

What Carnegie Hill residents ask before their first session.

Is the initial assessment really free?

Yes. Every new client in Carnegie Hill receives a complimentary physiological assessment in their building's fitness center before any commitment is made.

How do trainers access my building?

Our concierge team coordinates directly with your building's management and door staff. We handle all insurance certificates and access authorizations on your behalf.

What if my building's gym is limited?

We design around what exists. Our trainers arrive equipped for any space and have produced extraordinary results in buildings with modest facilities.

How often will we train?

Three to five sessions per week is standard for a 12-week program. We build around your calendar — before markets open, between meetings, or before dinner.

Is there a contract?

Programs are purchased as 8 or 12-week blocks. Results are guaranteed in writing. Monthly retainer training is available after the initial program completes.

Can I train near Central Park?

Yes. During temperate months we offer outdoor movement and conditioning sessions near Central Park as a complement to in-building training.

Are trainers certified?

Every Penthouse Athletic Club trainer holds a Tier 1 national certification and has a minimum of eight years' experience training high-performance clients in Manhattan.

Do you provide nutritional support?

All programs include structured nutrition guidance. Advanced protocols include direct coordination with your private chef or catering team.

What neighborhoods do you serve?

We serve all Upper East Side zip codes: 10021, 10028, and 10075. Neighborhoods include Yorkville, Lenox Hill, Carnegie Hill, and the broader Upper East Side.

Can I cancel or pause a program?

Programs are non-refundable but may be paused up to 30 days for travel or scheduled medical procedures. We work with each client individually.
